NREI Leadership Academy Presents the PHFA Mentoring Certificate Program

The purpose of the program is to train mentors to be better equipped to help counselors, especially those who are new to the process, and particularly, those that intend to represent consumers in Diversion court, with guided assistance in day to day counseling activities, time and case management, analyzing and negotiating client cases, court procedures, and follow up. Managers and senior level executives of housing counseling agencies, however, need the training and support to:

  • Enable them to garner the expertise to provide support and mentoring, particularly to relatively new foreclosure counselors;
  • Enable them to create and maintain effective internal systems and operations;
  • Enable them to maintain and grow their operations; despite dwindling funds.
  • PHFA, for a limited time, will be offering education and training to Executive Directors, Managers & Senior Certified Housing Counselors to enhance in-house counselor support; which is a critical component to the maintenance of adequate support, oversight, and overall monitoring of counselor performance.

Courses Offered are:

  • Mentoring Practices
  • Developing Skills to Increase Performance and Maximizing Income
  • Time, Stress, and Crisis Management
  • Developing and Maintaining Compliant Processing Systems: From Intake through Billing and Outcomes
  • Applying Coaching Techniques to Improve Outcomes

A certificate will be conferred on those who complete the entire series.

Mentoring training will be required (mandatory) for at least one senior counselor per agency and at each branch location. Certificates will be issued by NREI on behalf of PHFA.
